Addison's 6 Month Portraits

Its often difficult to get all children to look happy and look at the camera at the same time.. we managed a couple today that are close enough I think. Here are some of my favorites from today's session:

Unexpected Snow!

I knew it was expected to snow, but I thought they said it wouldn't stick, and certainly not accumulate unless you lived on the plateau. Although 2 inches and less is hardly accumulation - it's still fun and pretty to see!! I took a couple of pictures out my window this morning. Nothing exciting, but still pretty.

Paxton's 1 year Portraits

This little guy is cutting four teeth at the same time, so they weren't sure if he'd do okay today or not... he did great! We got a lot of cute pictures of him. Here is a small variety from the session:

The Smith Family

Oh what fun we had this morning! These kids are so sweet and well behaved and did such a great job! I had too many favorites to share, so I made another animoto video. Enjoy!

Lauren's Maternity Session

Flash!

Wow! I had over 80 suggestions for names given to me for my new kitten!! You all are wonderful and gave me such great names to consider! Thank you so much! I think only 4 names were offered by more than one person.

I was torn between keeping the T names going (I am married to Ted, had Tucker and have Tripod) .. but I also liked the idea of trying to relate it to photography. Although everyone thinks I gave Tripod his name because of my being a photographer, the family I got him from as a kitten had named him Tripod because he was born with only three legs. However.. its a cute coincidence for my business. We really loved the suggestions you gave us .. but I think we've decided on Flash.
It suits him in his kitten stage because he is very fast, it suits me because of it being a part of photography equipment, and it suits my husband because its a comic superhero character that he likes. We'll see if the kitten takes to it!

He sure is a handful when he is awake! He's typed his own messages by stomping all over the keyboard while I try to work, has dug in two of my potted plants, tried to eat a few plants, opened a bunch of cabinets to go exploring, has eaten some packing peanuts (i feel like i have to baby proof everything!) knocked random things over, gotten cat litter ALL OVER the floor outside the box, has strewn his toys all over the house... oh, and the best one: he's literally tried to climb the wall.. ??. And this is only his third afternoon here! He is cute though. I love that he has only one white whisker.. all the rest are dark.

Okay.. enough about the kitten. I hear the UPS truck and I'm expecting a box of orders to arrive - so I now have LOTS of work to do!

Beautiful Madeline

Madeline is such a doll! She has one of the most beautiful baby faces.. I love the close up of her. She was still recovering from having a cold - but did remarkably well despite not feeling her best. And still.. even when she wasn't smiling - she sure is beautiful!

Help Us Name our Kitten?

I'm not sure if it was a little premature for me to shop for a new kitten, but we brought one home today. The shelters aren't open when we'd have time to look in those, so we went to a pet store. We pretty much only had three choices.. all solid black, and all male. We picked the most frisky and playful one.. and I think we made a good choice. I like him more and more as the hours pass.
We locked our other cat, Tripod, in our room while the new little guy explored the entire house. Then we gave him his first bath before introducing them to each other. It went way better than I could have imagined! They locked eyes, slowly walked toward each other, sniffed noses a couple of times, then one walked away. They've already been playing together - running up and down the hallway, playing with toys, and in boxes. They're going to get along great!

The only problem is - we dont really know what to call him! So I need your help! He's very sweet and gentle, very much wants your approval, he's submissive, loves to explore. Doesn't seem to be afraid of anything. Easily distracted. Likes to cuddle and LOVES to play!

He's 7 months old and was in foster care before going up for adoption. He's solid black with one small patch of white on his abdomen. He has almost a rolling cry when he talks.. almost like a bird or something. I dont know how to describe it - but its cute (for now).

We've thought of Shadow - because he's black and follows us everywhere.. but it still doesn't seem to fit his personality. He needs something a little more spunky. Jackson - 11 months

Jackson had a mind of his own today - and it didn't involve taking pictures. And he'd be all smiles when I would put my camera down and talk to him, but as soon as I put the camera back up - he just stared. lol Oh well - he's still cute! Here are some of my favorites from the session:
