I assisted Paula Leach in photographing a wedding last Saturday. It was a blast as they were all so fun to be around. The groom's family is from Wales so the groomsmen were wearing kilts, and having a lot of fun doing so I might add. The bride is gorgeous too as you'll see in the images below.

Sadie's Family
It was a cold day for Sadie's 13 months portraits with her family. We'd already rescheduled once because of weather, and this just seemed like our last opportunity to get outdoor portraits. I had to enhance the color to make it look a bit more of a warm fall instead of the cold dreary day it actually was - but I think we got some great family shots. You'd never know we were all freezing!

1 Year Old Emma
Emma gave me little bashful smiles when she first arrived, but did wonderfully once we got started! I had a lot of fun with her session. The picture of her in the gold dress with the hat is a picture I did of her sister at that age too. Then we had a blast giving her cake! I can't believe how nice and neat she really was with it - I kind of expected more of a mess and squished cake.
And this is her big sister getting stuck in the balloons after we put the cake away! I think its still cute:

Update on my cat
I'm only posting this here because a couple of you actually sent me messages saying you hope Tucker is feeling better. Thank you for being so thoughtful!
Monday, I was able to get him to the vet. They said the infection in his ear was gone, but there was obviously something still wrong. They tried to open his mouth and Tucker flipped out - almost literally - and let out a chilling cry in anger. The vet tried again with a nurse and Tucker just wouldnt let them look. He said the only way to get a good look and find out whats going on is to sedate him.. which for a 20 year old cat with a heart murmur is very risky. But him dying under sedation is better than enduring the pain and starving. So he went back to the vet for the procedure at 7:30 Tuesday morning.
The verdict: He does have a mass in the back right side of his throat that is also affecting his ear and could be why tucker is still shaking his head a little bit. They took a sample from it but we decided not to send it off for testing.. positive or negative, the results would not affect what we can do for Tucker. There is an infection in the mass, but we dont know if its the cause of the mass or just secondary to it. So he'll be on liquid antibiotics for the next ten days. If it goes away - hurray! If not.. then the mass is probably cancer and there is nothing I can do. That diagnosis is unfortunately common for old kitties.
He was pretty wobbly and out of it yesterday, but woke up very hungry at almost 6pm. He ate quite a bit so I thought he was doing better. This morning, he seemed hungry but kept turning his nose away from his food. So.. we're back to the syringe feeding. He's sleeping a lot today - currently on a heating pad, and I've fed him twice. A friend also suggested getting Nutri-Cal which is a high calorie gel for cats who aren't eating. He did lick that off my finger, but he went back to sleep.
So, although he is not well, he is alive! I'm just trying to make him as comfortable as possible and I feed him a little bit any time he is awake. My poor little kitty.

Kim and John's Wedding
Well.. I dont have the pictures online yet, but I have a teaser for you. We had gorgeous weather for the week, and it got cold and breezy for Saturday's wedding. Kim and John (and their bridal party and family) were great sports and toughed it out. They all looked beautiful and I think we got some nice images despite losing daylight. Thanks for letting me be a part of your special day - it was great to see some familiar faces!

My Tucker kitty
My sweet old Tucker is 20 years old.. not sure when he turns 21. He's been quite a trooper over the years, but always devoted to me wherever I went. He recently had a terrible bacterial ear infection that earned him ten days of antibiotics. By the time that was done... he decided he didn't have an appetite. So, I've been battling to get food in him. I hate how traumatic it probably is as I have to hold him in my legs, keep his head still with one hand and push food into his mouth with another. All soft food. Once I get him tasting it, he'll usually eat a few more bites on his own before trying to walk away. I'm hoping this doesn't last long and he'll eat fully on his own again soon.
Sure he has slowed down some in his old age, but other than that - he seems so healthy and normal. His mother died at 21 last year. So, just in case my beloved kitty does give up on me .. I had my friend Paula come over and take a picture of me holding Tucker. And just for memories' sake - I've added the only other two pictures I could find of me holding him. I'm not sure how old I am in either picture. Upon seeing those, my husband commented yesterday that its just weird that Tucker and I were little together. lol. I'm only about six years older than my cat.
